Pressure Injury Prevention & Gelpad Position Aid

Pressure Care

Advanced Technology for Pressure Area Care

Pressure area care, also known as pressure injury or bedsore care, focuses on preventing and managing skin breakdown caused by prolonged pressure on the body. This involves regularly changing positions, keeping skin clean and dry, using supportive surfaces, and ensuring good nutrition and hydration.

Key aspects of pressure area care include:

  • Regular Repositioning:

Changing position every 1-2 hours for bedridden individuals and every 15 minutes for those in wheelchairs, or

more frequently if needed, to relieve pressure on vulnerable areas.

  • Skin Inspection:

Regularly checking the skin for redness, swelling, or any signs of breakdown, especially over bony prominences like heels, hips, and elbows.

  • Maintaining Skin Health:

Keeping the skin clean and dry, using gentle cleansers, and applying moisturizing creams or barrier creams to protect against moisture and friction.

  • Using Support Surfaces:

Utilizing pressure-redistributing mattresses, cushions, and other devices to minimize pressure on sensitive areas.

  • Good Nutrition and Hydration:

Ensuring a balanced diet with adequate protein, vitamins, and fluids to support tissue health and healing.

  • Addressing Underlying Factors:

Managing conditions that can increase the risk of pressure injuries, such as incontinence, poor circulation, and immobility.

  • Proper Wound Care:

If pressure ulcers develop, they need to be cleaned, dressed, and managed according to their stage and severity, often involving specialized dressings and wound care products.

  • Education and Prevention:

Learning about pressure injury prevention and implementing strategies to reduce risk factors, such as quitting smoking and managing underlying conditions.

Gel Pads Patient Positions Aid

These gel pads, which are placed under different patients positions during surgery, are used to reduce strain and prevent contact between the nerve at the fibular head and the hard surface of the operating table.

Gel pads is a surgical pad designed to provide a supportive role in wound dressing and surgical procedures and may be used for post-operative care.
